Almost completely black, with a dusting of white fur on her muzzle and her toes, Miss Gracie is seven years old. Our understanding is that her family added a new, small dog to their home, the two dogs got into a fight, and Gracie tore up the small dog's ear. She was dropped off at the local shelter to be euthanized and then made it into rescue.
Gracie has yet to show any signs of aggression. She was nervous and shaking at the shelter, but did not react to the other dogs. Now that she's in her foster home, she's starting to unwind. On walks, Gracie is excited about meeting other dogs (even a Chihuahua), but is easily contained. It's all enthusiasm. She mostly ignores the cat at home, but is not above chasing outdoor cats if they run.
Gracie is a sweet girl. She can be timid when meeting other people, but her love of attention helps her overcome that. If you have an idle hand, she will brush up against it to encourage petting. She also loves to give her paw.
Currently weighing in at 93 pounds, Gracie is a dainty Dane. She doesn't drool much for her breed. She walks well with a regular collar and is in excellent physical shape. Danes with smaller frames tend to live longer, and we are certain that many loving years lie ahead for Gracie and the right family.
Gracie's adoption fee will be $150.Adoption Application
